Carpe Diem might just be that new inventive space you've been looking for. This is a brand new artistic space in the newly renovated and refurbished 260 year-old Jacques-Godinho house at Gomes Vaddo Majorda.

Carpe Diem is an art and learning centre that was recently opened in the picturesque village of Majorda in South Goa. Set in the 260 year old ancestral home belonging to the Jacques-Godinho family, this creative space is currently housed in the part that belongs to Daegal Godinhos’s parents Lalita and Luz.


Carpe Diem, the brainchild of Daegal, a theatre personality himself aims to provide a backdrop for those who wish to discover, explore or exhibit their creative talents. On the cards are art exhibitions, dance, music and theatre workshops and performances, book readings, short film screenings, yoga, pottery classes and more.

A little information about Colva village……..

Colva is basically a fishing village and if one heads south or north from the central part of the beach area one finds hoards of fishing nets, dugout canoes and mechanized wooden boats on the shoreline.

What Calangute is to North Goa, Colva is similarly to South Goa. Colva is the main tourist landmark beach of Salcete or South Goa. It is one of the oldest and largest beaches of Goa.

Colva is also famous for the white washed, “Our Lady Of Mercy Church” also known as Igreja de Nossa Senhora de Piedade that was founded in 1630 and later rebuilt on the village square in the eighteenth century. It houses the miraculous statue of 'Menino Jesus' (Baby Jesus) which is believed to have healing powers that was founded by a Jesuit missionary.

Colva Beach

It is considered to be the Queen of South Goa beaches. Colva beach is a junction and center for water sports activities. There are a plethora of water sports and adventure activities to participate while sun bathing on the beach.
